    Zoloft is a medication used in treating depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, panic attacks, social phobia, traumatic stress disorder and severe premenstrual syndrome. It may improve mood, energy level, appetite, sleep while decreasing fear, unwanted thoughts, anxiety and other conditions that limits the joy of daily life. The active component Sertraline works by restoring the brain balance of the serotonin. It does this by blocking its reuptake at the neurons since it is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).

    Take the medication orally as directed by the doctor.
    It is usually once daily.
    Do not change the dosage or duration unless your doctor sees otherwise.
    The capsule may be taken with breakfast/supper or without food.
    If treating premenstrual syndrome, you should take it every day of the month or only for 2 weeks prior to periods beginning.
    Dosage and duration of use depends on the condition, severity and drug response.

    Store Zoloft in a tight container away from heat, light and moisture and at room temperature.
